Built by Faith: How a Dream Led Mick Owens to CFD's New Home

Mick Owens, founder of CFD Companies, celebrates a new chapter in his company's history as
they open a new office to accommodate for their growing team of financial advisers and staff
As Kokomo continues to grow and evolve, one locally owned business has a dream for a better future. CFD Companies have been a staple of the community since 1982, providing trusted financial guidance to families across the country. With decades of experience and a deep commitment to services, the company is ready for its next chapter. With a growing team, Mick Owens, founder of CFD Companies, is setting his sights on something bigger.
Owens, known for his visionary leadership and deep commitment to the community, dreams of a new headquarters that reflects the growth, innovation, and family values at the heart of CFD Companies. He believes the new space will not only accommodate the firm's expanding team but also serve as a lasting symbol of its mission to put people first.
“We had built 4 buildings at 608 East Boulevard and were out of space. The city wouldn't let me build anything else at that location. Therefore, I needed to look for alternative locations. I explored buying the Cub Grocery building as well as Office Max. Additionally, I looked at a vacant lot. At the National Association of Christian Financial Consultants (NACFC) meeting in Colorado Springs on Saturday night's closing, I went up after his message to ask him, Pastor Pat Haile, to pray that God would show us exactly what He wanted us to do. I told Pastor Pat that I had 3 locations that I could make work, but I was interested what God wanted...not Mick. I went to bed and woke up from a dream at approximately 3am. In the dream I saw a building complete with the current floor plan including the green metal roof. In my dream, I said “I see it Lord, where is it?” I was sucked down Lincoln Avenue looking under the catwalk that hung over Lincoln from one side of Delco to the other...I was looking right at this property. Not one that I had on my radar. We got home Tuesday, and I went to that property to discover that it was for sale. The owner and I came to an agreement for the purchase. I took all of the drawings along with the floor plan and dimensions that God gave me in the dream to the architect...no changes had to be made. I told the architect that if God could tell Noah how to build an ark that He could surely tell me how to build an office building. Praise The Lord”, said Owens.
With a vision in place, and his dream becoming a reality, Mick is laying the foundation for a future where CFD Companies can continue to thrive and serve their clients and staff. The new headquarters will create more opportunities for networking, more offices for the company’s growing staff, and provide a welcoming space for clients and advisers alike. It’s more than just a building—it’s a bold statement about where CFD Companies is headed and who they continue to serve.
